OUR MISSION

Our mission is to provide Service Animals to US Military Veterans. Though the hard work, dedication, and passionate care of our trainers and providers, we train both the service animal and the Veteran.

The training of each dog is tailor suited to the Veteran in need. We train the dogs to assist with the following disabilities: PTSD, Panic Disorders, Physical Disabilities, Bipolar Disorder, Seizures, and many more.

Welcome to Veteran Service Dogs

At Veteran Service Dogs Organization (VSDO), we are committed to improving the lives of U.S. Military Veterans through cutting-edge research and the development of advanced service animal training methods. Our mission is to lead the field in research and development of efficient and effective service animal training designed to address the complex needs of Veterans.

What makes Veteran Service Dogs unique is our research-first approach. We involve Veterans directly in our research process, as part of our ongoing efforts to make groundbreaking discoveries in service animal training methods, innovative training tools, and Veteran-centered care.

INNOVATING AND SHARING OUR FINDINGS

At Veteran Service Dogs, we aim to revolutionize service animal training through research and innovation. As we gain new insights, we refine our training techniques to create programs that are more effective, efficient, and tailored to the evolving needs of Veterans.

But our impact goes beyond our organization. We are committed to sharing our research and insights with other non-profit organizations that share our mission, ensuring that more Veterans can benefit from the latest innovations in service animal training.

EDUCATING THE PUBLIC

In addition to collaboration with other organizations, we believe in the importance of public education. We share what we learn not only with our peers but also to inform the public about the needs of Veterans and their service animals. Through our outreach efforts, we aim to:

  • Educate the public on the proper way to interact with Veterans and their service dogs in public spaces.
  • Raise awareness about the rules and laws surrounding service animals, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the accommodations that Veterans and their service dogs are entitled to under the law.
  • Advocate for a deeper understanding of the unique challenges faced by Veterans, fostering a more inclusive and supportive community.

EXPANDING OUR IMPACT

Our work doesn’t stop at research, development and education.

By fostering a collaborative environment and sharing our research, we aim to create lasting, positive change for the entire service animal community.

We believe that by educating the public and working together with other organizations, we can make a greater impact and ensure that every Veteran receives the support they deserve.
